WELCOME TO HARDRAADE!
Explore the fascinating story behind the construction of the Viking ship Dronning Åsta, moored at Sundvolden in the municipality of Hole.
While exploring the construction site and the ship, you'll learn about legendary figures like Harald Hardrada and Odin, as well as the mystical ravens, Huginn and Muninn. You can visit the rune hut, the Viking shop, and the forge.
You can watch artisans forging, carving runes, sewing, and building—all while you walk through Norwegian Viking history. Our experienced guides will show you around while telling you about this historic project.
We welcome both groups and drop-in visitors. Free parking is available.

QUEEN ASTA
The Hardraade ship, now christened Queen Asta, was launched into Steinsfjorden on August 30th.
Come and see the majestic Viking ship, now docked at Vintervika—just a short walk from our build site.
Join us every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Our passionate volunteers are ready to give you a tour (depending on the number of visitors) and chat about the project. There's always a buzz of activity here!
Admission is free, but we are very grateful for any donations. If you'd like to browse our Viking shop, we welcome you. Every contribution helps!
We also welcome groups by appointment. Please get in touch with us to schedule a tour for your group.

Accessibility
It can be a bit tricky to move around with a wheelchair, crutches, and a walker since the terrain changes depending on the type of weather. However, most people are doing fine, and there is a ramp in and out of the slipway to the ship. We are currently working on upgrading the road to the Viking ship so it's accessible for wheelchairs.
